This is actually a great question.   Cryptocase provides “role based access control” to certain partitions set by the user.  Blockchain is like this: public ledger, anonymous ownership  (sort of)

Fractal/cryptocase allows you to set roll based access control to your transactions so some may the obfuscated or hidden completely.

VTSN will also have a “ghost protocol” transaction option, that operates sort of like a stock market dark pool, for large pipe trades and transactions that require discretion by the user.  The balance is perfectly maintained by the network, down to the 9th decimal dust. 

Short answer: Yes there’s a public ledger.   There’s an immutable supply of 1 billion, what’s available to trade is on the site.

TIP:  Don’t think “blockchain” and embrace Fractal as an entirely new way of processing.

Technically there’s a public ledger, transaction log, and audit trail… each with increasing degrees of precision. Each implements both RBAC and ABAC (role-based access control and attribute-based access control), which results in the highest degree of security and privacy as appropriate. There are some “visibility masks” that can be applied at the users discretion to public ledger entries, because even though all transactions are public, not everything should be revealed to all.

For example, if you use your Vertisan Card in your “weekend recreational life” and you don’t want the world to see that, visibility masks are applied to the ledger entries.

The accounting is perfect and everything is there, just not in a way that exposes people’s personal lives for everyone to see.
